For an American cheesemaker to be recognized like this on the world-cheese-stage is an incredible honor. Not only did Vermont Creamery receive 7 awards in the 2017 World Cheese Awards, one of them was the coveted Super Gold Award. Since 2011, Vermont Creamery, previously known as VBC (Vermont Butter & Cheese), has won 14 World Cheese Awards at the competition organized by The Guild of Fine Food.
Their cheeses that won awards this year are: Coupole (gold), Bijout (silver), Bonne Bouche (bronze), Creme Fraiche (bronze), Fresh Herb Goat Cheese (bronze), and Vanilla Creme Fraiche (bronze). Those are all fabulous awards to make any artisan proud. However, even more impressive is the winner of the coveted Super Gold Award. Named one of best 66 cheeses in the world, Vermont Creamery's "Cremont" is a double-cream, aged cheese, made from a mix of both cows' and goats' milk.
